The proboscises, as you can see by the example coat of arms to the left, generally issues from the Helm…and as such you will need the proboscises cut in half. We have included some in the bonus collection this month, so you don’t have to trim them in your software. We say ‘generally issues from the Helm”, because they do also, but not as often, issue from the torse. In most cases, there’s another element to the crest that is positioned in between the proboscises. The proboscis may also be used as a charge on the shield, albeit rarely. Have fun with them, they can certainly dress up a full achievement.
